I’m working on a book listing items commonly found in homes that will bring at least $25 on eBay.
Things like:
What have you sold that brought an odd amount? Something that surprised you? If you post a comment below with something you were pleasantly surprised with the selling price, I’ll give you a copy of the book when I get it finished. By posting you’re giving me permission to use your name and words in the book.

PS If you post, please be as specific as posible. If you’re story involves dishes tell us the maker, the pattern, and the price.
I was down in Tempe last month and saw the train cross Mill Avenue for the first time.
This is the Valley Metro Light Rail commuter train that goes from nowhere in the east - actually East Valley Institute of Technology, to Nowhere in the west - where Christown used to be. Between those two points the train disrupts a lot of traffic.
I go to Tempe frequently, and the new Tempe train station is right where I used to park. Recently the builders brought the train through slowly. They ran it from one end to the other and checked clearances and other details.
The train sat in the Tempe Light Rail station for about an hour as workers crawled all over it. Here’s a picture of the train in the Tempe Station:

After a long while the police closed off Mill Avenue and the train darted across.

You can see the Hayden Flour Mill in the background.
They took the train back and forth accross mill avenue a few times. Here’s a shot of it coming back across from the east.

There are some BIG bumpers on the train. I guess they’ll need them for all the cars they’ll be hitting until drivers learn to watch for the train.
I heard the train will be back in Tempe for the July 4th weekend. I also heard it won’t be.
I heard the Train would be running regularly by December 2008, and also heard it will be 6 months late due to needed repairs of poorly constructed track.
Mike Derosa is a spammer who buys resale rights to garbage products and the promotes them with spam emails.
Mike Derosa has an interesting piece of software running on his site. If you click on on of his spam offers, but don’t buy, his system sends you a message asking if you had problems completing your order.
Interesting.
If you click on the remove link in one of Mike Derosa’s spam emails, you get twice as much spam because you’ve proven your address is real.
So don’t click on any of his links.
If you use Outlook Express, the first time you see an email from Mike Derosa, click on the message title so the message is shown in the preview pane. Then click on MESSAGE on the file bar and then select BLOCK SENDER.
Outlook Express will then ask you if you want to delete every message Mike Derosa has sent you. Click yes and then go back to whatever you are doing.
Once you do this, every email Mike Derosa sends you will automatically be deleted by Outlook Express. Meaning you’ll never have to see another email from Mike again.

Here’s a picture of Dog. He’s half black lab and half chow. He’s a gentle dog.

Anyway, Dog and I were sitting on the back patio and we heard a noise. There are stairs to the deck on the patio, and under the stairs is a closet. It sounded like something was in the closet. I got a golf club from the garage and looked in the closet.
While I was looking in the closet Dog was standing behind me. He’s very protective.
I saw a bunch of small animal pellets so I figured a packrat had moved into the closet. I set up a trap, and two days later I caught him.
Here’s a picture of the packrat:

Nope. Not a packrat. It was a spider.
Here’s a picture of the spider:

I found him in the bedroom.

Also in the backyard are a dozen turtles. They are box turtles. They are in a 20 by 50 foot fenced area so Dog doesn’t play with them.
The turtles eat ground beef and Dog always likes to look in at them to see what they are doing. I think Dog’s jealous because he doesn’t get ground beef.
